Pride in the American Dream
Pride. In a simple meaning, it's the love and belief in something we value. We take pride in our appearances, our cars, our families, and yes--our homes. The American Dream is owning a home--a piece of real estate, taking care of it, growing with it, and maintaining its investment potential.
My ancestors came here from Scotland via Ireland in the early 1700s for a new life, new hope, and a new home. My 5th great grandfather fought 3 tours in the Revolutionary War so he and his family could have a better life. He believed in a reason to fight and had pride in his new country.
As our country sits in a recession, we have to remember that our country has been in many worse situations than this one. A World War, a Civil War, or even the Revolutionary War is harder on a country than something as common as a recession.
My advice to all of this is simple. Keep your head up, work hard, and take pride in yourself and your dream of owning a home. American wasn't born and created by a bunch of quitters.
